2015 Bicycle and Pedestrian Count Overview
The Flint Hills MPO is organizing the 2nd Annual Bicycle and Pedestrian Count for the region, following the procedures and guidelines created by the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project (www.bikepeddocumentation.org). This yearly count aids the region in identifying areas to focus bicycle and pedestrian improvements and funding; as well as to determine the overall effectiveness of completed infrastructure projects. Below is a brief overview of the important information regarding the upcoming count.- The counts will be on the following days and times in September:
Tuesday, Sept 15th
11am‐1pm 4pm‐6pm
11am‐1pm 4pm‐6pm
Wednesday, Sept 16th Saturday, Sept 26th
11am‐1pm 12‐pm‐2pm 4pm‐6pm
11am‐1pm 12‐pm‐2pm 4pm‐6pm
- Locations will be determined based upon current intersections and areas that are heavily used by pedestrians and cyclists, but may be dangerous or lacking necessary infrastructure.
- Count will focus around pedestrian/cyclist users as a primary mode of transportation as opposed to recreational users
